ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Saginaw Valley State University men’s track team participated in the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships (March 12-13).

The distance medley team of senior Charlie Richards (Goodrich, Mich.), Tony Filipek (Caro, Mich./Kingston HS), junior Marion Body (Warren, Mich./Cousino HS) and senior Derek Stone (Metamora, Mich./Lapeer East HS) took ninth place overall clocking in at 10:24.60.  Filipek would also finish fourth in the 800-meter run with a final time of 1:51.89 while Richards placed seventh with a time of 1:52.99.

With their performances at the Division II Indoor Championship, both Filipek and Richards received All-American honors.

The Cardinal track team will return to action as they travel to East Lansing to compete in the MSU Invitational (April 3).  The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
