BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship races hosted by Ferris State on Saturday. The Cardinal men's team finished second with 57 points while the women placed fourth with 123 points.
Five men's student-athletes earned All-GLIAC teams while one women's runner earned All-GLIAC honors.
Nicholas McArdle and Jacob Walker led SVSU with times of 24 minutes, 43.0 seconds, and 24:46.5, both PR marks, to earn first-team All-GLIAC for their finishes of seventh and ninth, respectively.
Corey Bowers was 12th to earn second-team All-GLIAC with his time of 24:58.9. Tyler Bays and Adam Thomas joined Bowers on the All-GLIAC second team with 17th and 20th-place times of 25:08.4 and 25:09.9 (both times were PRs as well).
Nicholas Bozarth finished the race in 25:21.2 to place 26th, while Jack Lobodzinski was the final scoring member of the men's team with a 36th-place finish after a time of 25:47.3.
Jenna Picard was second-team All-GLIAC with her finish of 22:10.7 (PR) which put her 19th in the individual results.
Lauren Thomas finished 25th with a time of 22:32.2. Karissa Picard (27th) and Alexis Tracy (28th) finished in the top 30 with times of 22:46.5 and 22:48.9.
Jenna Sweeney set a new PR with her finish of 23:07.0 to place 39th. Kinsie Jacques and Tara Szuper were 54th and 69th for the final two scores on the women's side. Both times were PRs with Jacques crossing the finish line at 23:38.6 and Suzper clocking in at 24:13.8.

UP NEXT: Both teams will compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Saturday, November 9 at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. The results of this race will determine the qualifying team and individuals for the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship races.
