ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Lewis Crossover on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal men's team finished 13th out of 36 teams with a final score of 335 points. The women's team placed 25th out of 36 teams with a team total of 683.
Jacob Walker was the top finisher for the men with a PR of 24 minutes and 45.40 seconds to place 47th in the men's 8K race. Tyler Bays finished next with a PR of 24:51.41. Adam Thomas placed four spots back from Bays with a PR of 24:54.31. Nick McArdle set a new PR with his finish of 25:04.77. Nicholas Bozarth and Noah Verlinde set new season-best times. Bozarth crossed the finish line at 25:15.57, while Verlinde finished in 25:29.57. Jack Lobodzinski and Corey Bowers were the final two racers for the men with times of 25:54.75 and 26:04.47.
Jenna Picard and Karissa Picard led the women's team with finishes of 23:05.69 and 23:06.50, respectively. Lili Lehnst had a PR time of 23:28.92 to score for the team. Alexis Tracy finished the race in 23:33.86. Lauren Thomas set a PR with a time of 23:46.17. Kinsie Jacques finished in 24:39.59 for the final time on the women's side.
The Cardinals will return home to host the Red October event on Friday, October 18 beginning at 11:00 a.m. (ET).
