EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State University on Friday. Both teams finished third in the race with the men scoring 80 points while the women's team finished with 118.
Jack Lobodzinski led the way for the Cardinal men with a top-20 finish after placing 13th with a time of 25 minutes, 13.4 seconds. Nicholas McArdle set a new personal best time in the race with a 25:28.6 which was good enough for 22nd. Corey Bowers placed 28th with his time of 25:42.2. Jacob Walker recorded a PR with his 29th-best time of 25:43.9. Adam Thomas placed 30th with a finish of 25:44.8 while Tyler Bays set a PR in 36th with a time of 25:56.1. Noah Verlinde finished the seven scoring times with a 48th place finish of 26:17.0.
On the women's side, Jenna Picard and Karissa Picard led with times of 23:01.3 and 23:19.1 for 31st and 41st in the individual standings. Alexis Tracy crossed the finish line in 46th after a time of 23:24.2. Freshmen Jenna Sweeney (54th, 23:46.7), Lili Lehnst (56th, 23:53.7), Anastee Davis (69th, 24:25.1), and Kinsie Jacques (73rd, 24:33.8) all set personal records in the 6K race and were the final four scoring times for the Cardinal women.
