UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University sophomore cross country student-athlete Dominic Suliman was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) cross country athlete of the week by the league office.

Suliman had a great week for SVSU at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Invitational at NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University on Friday evening. The Warren, Michigan product was the highest non-NCAA DI finisher at the meet as he crossed the finish line in 25:09.1 to earn fifth on the individual standings.

This is the first Athlete of the Week award for the Saginaw Valley State cross country team this season. The team will return to competition a week from Saturday (September 30) to host the Cardinal Classic.
