Cross Country hosts the Inaugural Red October Invitational

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams hosted the Red October Invitational on Saturday on the campus of SVSU. The men's team finished in third place with 59 points while the women were also third place in the team standings with 83 points.

Leading the way for the Cardinals in the men's race was Carter Stoner in seventh place in the 8k race with a time of 26:59.70. Behind him, Brendan Nesbitt finished 13th with a time of 27:24.70. Next to cross the line for the Cardinals was Luke Rambo in 17th place with a time of 27:44.20. Jarrett Warner and Austin Rippee were the next Cardinals to finish, with Warner in 31st with a time of 28:32.90 and Rippee in 32nd with a time of 28:35.00 and completing the scoring for SVSU.

On the women's side, Emma Banning led the way in 12th place in the 6k race with a time of 24:51.56. Aubree Sedore was next to finish for the Cardinals in 18th place with a time of 25:20.32. Emily Buska was 30th in 27:10.26 while Jessica Jablonski was 31st with a time 27:34.57. Grace Kendziorski completed the scoring for SVSU in 36th place with a time of 29:50.55.

SVSU will travel to the Lewis University Crossover next Saturday in Romeoville, Ill.
