Cardinals Run at Michigan Intercollegiate

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The SVSU cross country teams traveled to Hillsdale, Michigan to compete in the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate race, hosted by Hillsdale College. The Cardinals had some solid showings in one of the two final tune-ups prior to the 2016 GLIAC Cross Country Championships.

The women's team finished runner-up in the 5K race, being paced by Christina Micale's fourth-place finish with a time of 19:25.7. Laura Estrada and Domonique Adams finished ninth and 10th, crossing the line with times of 19:54.3 and 19:54.7, respectively. 

Sophia Bradley (20:21.7) and Sydney Kreger (20:25.2) were 14th and 15th in the race.

The men only had two athletes compete in the 8K rance, as Kavi Kulkarni finished 20th with his time of 28:31.1 and Tellis Donajkowski posted a time of 28:51.5 for 23rd place.

The competition also featured a mixed 4K race, which had some good showings for the Cardinals. Allison Dorr was the top finisher for the women in the race, posting a time of 14:37.0. Rob Roest led the men overall, running to a time of 12:30.9. Ryan Silvestri ran to a third place finish with a time of 12:42.1 and teammate Blake Borkowski was fourth with a showing of 12:43.4. Jordan Walters was seventh with a time of 13:19.8.

The teams are off until Friday, October 21, when the Cardinals compete at the EMU Fall Classic a day before the 2016 GLIAC Championships.
