Cards run at Ray Helsing Invitational

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The SVSU cross country team ran at the Ray Helsing Invitational, hosted by Ferris State University, on Saturday (Sep. 10) morning. The teams used the race as a training session, using the opportunity to get used to the course where this year's GLIAC Championships will be held. The Cardinals still had some solid performances on the day.

Men

Both Eddie Komph and Nate Frasier finished with a time of 26:50.1 and finished in 5th and 6th place, respectively. Tristan Fackelman and Joey Southgate were right behind at 26:50.4 to finish 9th and 10th. The Cardinals were second overall in the 8K race.

SVSU men in action...

Women

Allison Dorr finished runner-up in the 5K race, posting a time of 18:41.9. Teammate Taylor Stepanski was third with her mark of 18:51.7 to. Those two top performances led the Lady Cardinals in their third place finish. 

Saginaw Valley is back in action on Friday (Sep. 16), as the teams travel to compete in the Spartan Invitational on the campus of Michigan State University.
