MILFORD - The Saginaw Valley State University Cross Country Teams are set to compete at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 24th.

The events is taking place at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan and is being hosted by Wayne State University.

The women will begin competition with a 6K race that will start at 11:00 a.m. The men will follow with their 8K run at 11:45 a.m.

The women look to build on last year's fifth place finish in which Emily Short led the way with a 12th place finish, earning Second Team All-GLIAC honors.

On the men's side, the Cardinals aim to improve on the eithth place showing in the 2014 championships. Joey Southgate led the way in that race, posting a ninth place finish to earn First Team All-GLIAC plaudits. 

The SVSU men's team is currently ranked fourth in the Midwest Region and holds down the 22nd spot in the national top-25 poll.
