The Saginaw Valley women's and men's cross country teams competed in the Lucian Rosa Invitational and the Northwood Invitational on Saturday, October 10.
In the Northwood Invitational men's race, Joey Southgate came in first place after posting a time of 25:39.1. Juniors David Jensen and Thomas Kean finished sixth and 10th, running a 26:25.41 and 27:00.95, respectively.
Christina Micale came across the finish line in third for the women, running a 23:17.45, followed by freshman Sophia Bradley in fifth with a time of 23:42.58.
Tom Goforth finished in third place in the men's race with a time of 24:49.8 at the Lucian Rosa Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Teammate Nate Frasier followed close behind, coming in at 26:07.2 for fifth place.
In the women's race at Lucian Rosa, Brittany Johnson placed second after posting a time of 18:13.5. Allison Dorr crossed the finish line in sixth, postng a 18:59.7. Overall, the women finished in fifth at the invitational and the men finished second.
The Cardinals compete again on November 7 NCAA Regional Championships in Evansville, Indiana.
