LANSING, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team posted a
stellar performance at the Lansing Community College Invitational today (Oct. 4).
Junior Emily Short (Tawas, Mich./Tawas Area) led the charge for the Cardinals, claiming first-place with a time of 18:00.1 in the 5K race. She was one of five SVSU runners to finish in the top-11.
Junior Jessica Reeves (Sanford, Mich./Meridian) finished 5th overall (18:34.7) while Amanda Lacertosa (Imlay City, Mich.) crossed the finish line with a time of 18:41.4, good enough for 7th place.
Rounding-out the top finishes for the Cardinals were junior Chantelle Fondren (Chesaning, Mich.) and freshman Christina Micale (Macomb, Mich./Dakota), who finished 10th and 11th, respectively, with times of 18:57.1 and 18:58.8.
Saginaw Valley is back in action on Friday, Oct. 11, as it heads to Hillsdale College for a meet.
