CHICAGO, Ill. - The Saginaw Valley State
University women’s cross country team competed in the 37th
Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational held in Chicago, Illinois
today (Oct. 3).
The lady Cards finished 12th overall, tops for any DII school.
SVSU had four of their best five finishing in the top 100. Leading
a pack of Cardinals that finished with times in the 19 minute range
was transfer Katie
Scott (Mitchell, Ont. Canada / Universal HS) who finished 38th,
with a time of 19:02. Following close behind Scott was senior Amber Catlin
(Alma, Mich.) who crossed the line in 52nd place, sophomore Jean Hollerbach
(Grosse Point, Mich.), coming in 58th overall, and sophomore Ashley Meyer
(Shepherd, Mich.), who finished in 75th place. Rounding out Saginaw
Valley’s top five was senior Amanda Roache (Mt.
Morris, Mich.) who timed in at 20:10, placing her 107th,
respectively.
The Cardinals will be back in action again on Friday (Oct. 9) when
they compete in the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships held in
Grand Rapids, Michigan starting at 3:30pm.
