NEW ORLEANS, La. - Six Saginaw Valley State University women's and men's indoor track & field student-athletes have are set to participate in the 2015 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. The event will be taking place March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.
Representing the #24 Lady Cardinals will be Taylor Stepanski, Anna Fochesato, Brittany Johnson and the Distance Medley Relay Team, which conisists of Stepanski, Johnson, Kimberly Balls and Alicia Tomlin.
The DMR Team currently holds the third-best time in the nation, as the ladies ran to an 11:36.99 finish in the 2015 GLIAC Indoor Championships. Stepanski will be competing as an individual in the 800 Meter Run, as she has the #7 mark in the nation of 2:10.89. That time was achieved at the GLIAC Indoor Championships. Johnson has the #7 time in the Mile Run, as she sits with a mark of 4:53.40 that was ran at the GLIAC Championships as well. Fochesato is currently ranked #13 in the country for the High Jump sitting with a height of 1.73 meters that she posted at the SVSU Holiday Classic.
Andrew Mudd will be the lone male representative for the Cardinals. Mudd has the 12th-best score in the Heptathlon in the nation, as he posted a mark of 5,153 points in the GLIAC Indoor Championships.
