Cardinals Host SVSU vs. GVSU Dual

UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track & field teams hosted the annual SVSU vs. GVSU Dual Meet on Friday evening (Feb. 6).  The Cardinals had some solid performances, posting several NCAA Division II Provisional qualifying times.

Taylor Stepanski posted one of those qualifying times, posting a mark of 2:13.09 in the 800 meter run.  

Anna Fochesato added another qualifying mark, clearing the bar in the high jump with a height of 1.71 meters.  Mackenzie Frodle posted a heighth of 1.53 meters in the event as well.

Fochesato added yet another provisional mark in the triple jump, marking a distance of 11.56 meters.

Andrew Mudd and Travis Toye claimed the top spot in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run, posting times of 49.54 and 1:58.11, respectively.

D'Omar Boyden claimed first place in the 60 meter hurdles, crossing the line with a time of 8.43 seconds.

The men's 4 x 400 meter relay team, consisting of Mudd, Lee Chiatalis, Jimmy Cousins and Josh Simmons, finished first with a mark of 3:21.07.

Brady Watson finished runner-up in the high jump with a height of 1.99 meters while Frank Sanders had the same heighth of 1.99 meters.

Sanders added a provisional mark of 14.29 meters in the men's triple jump.

The Cardinals are off until Friday, February 13th, when they compete at the GVSU Big Meet.
