WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Saginaw Valley State University indoor track & field student-athlete Chantelle Fondren competed in the mile run preliminaries on Day 1 at the 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Friday (Mar. 14).
After posting a time of 5:05.55, the SVSU junior runner narrowly missed-out on qualifying for Saturday's finals, placing 15th in the nation.
It was Fondren's first time competing in the indoor national meet.
Saturday will feature two more Cardinal student-athletes competing in the meet, with sophomore Anna Fochesato competing in the high jump at 9:45 am before junior Emily Short looks to repeat as an All-American in the 3,000 meter run at 6:25 pm.
