MIDLAND, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team suffered a 4-3 defeat against Davenport on Friday afternoon. The match result came down to the doubles competition as the Panthers took the two matches necessary to claim the point while the team split the six singles matches.
Nicoletta Diamantopoulos led the way for the Cardinals as she won her doubles match with her sister Anastasia Diamantopoulos, 6-3, before winning her matchup at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-0. Anastasia Diamantopoulos also went 2-0 on the day with her win at the No. 6 singles matchup 6-4, 6-2. Elizabeth Stuart claimed the final point with her win at No. 5 singles 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.
