Tennis Tame Huskies for First GLIAC Win of the Season

MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team won four of the six singles matches on Friday afternoon to defeat Michigan Tech 4-3 to earn the first GLIAC victory of the season. The Cardinals (2-8, 1-1 GLIAC) break even in conference play with the victory over the Huskies (2-4, 0-1 GLIAC). Adriana Barrio (#1), Amelia Dickson (#3), Nicoletta Diamantopoulos (#4), and Anastasia Diamantopoulos (#6) earned wins in their singles matches to secure the win for SVSU. Elizabeth Stuart and Lydia Liong won the number two doubles matchup as well. Barrio clinched the match with her 6-4 win in the third at the number 1 singles match.
