ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team dropped both matches on the first day of the team's Spring Break trip on Monday. The Cardinals (0-4) fell against Carnegie Mellon 6-1 early in the day before suffering a 5-2 defeat against NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University in the afternoon.
SVSU took two of the three doubles matches against Carnegie Mellon to secure a 1-0 lead early. Adriana Barrio and Amelia Dickson won the number one doubles while Anastasia Diamantopoulos and Nicoletta Diamantopoulos won the number three doubles to help earn the point.
Nicoletta and Anastasia Diamantopoulos won their singles matchups (4 and 6) over the Falcons to claim the two points against Bowling Green State.
UP NEXT: The Cardinals tennis team will face Embry Riddle tomorrow on the second day of competition in Florida.
