MIDLAND, MICH. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the 2024 Women's Tennis All-GLIAC Award recipients on day one of the league tournament this afternoon.

Saginaw Valley State University junior Adriana Barrio was listed on the First-Team All-GLIAC roster for the second consecutive season. Senior Tara Erler was an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention for the second-straight year as well.

"Our team is very proud of the GLIAC Award earned by Tara [and] Adriana," said SVSU interim tennis coach Kevin Schultz.

Barrio was the Cardinals' No. 1 singles competitor and finished the regular season with a 12-5 record in that spot. Barrio and Erler were the No. 1 doubles pair this season and finished with a 14-8 record after their victory in the first round of the GLIAC tournament that took place before the awards ceremony. The duo was ranked as high as 41st in the ITA Doubles Top-50 Rankings this season.

Erler compiled a singles record of 11-9 playing primarily in the No. 2 spot. She played No. 1 singles three times this season, going 3-0 on those occasions. The senior captain finished the first round of the GLIAC tournament with a doubles record of 14-8 along with fellow All-GLIAC selection Barrio.

"Tara along with Adriana played strong all season in singles and doubles to get us seeded [fourth] in the GLIAC Tournament and [the] First Round win," stated Schultz.
