Stephanie Strong named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer senior forward Stephanie Strong was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) office on Monday.

Strong led the Cardinals with two goals and an assist as she was involved in all three goals for SVSU over the two games last week. She assisted the first and scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 win over Michigan Tech on Thursday and scored the go-ahead goal in a 1-1 tie against Northern Michigan on Saturday. The win and tie gave Saginaw Valley four conference points to claim the third seed in the GLIAC and home field advantage in the Quarterfinal round on Tuesday, November 12.

This is the first Offensive Player of the Week award for Strong and the Cardinals and the second GLIAC Player of the Week award for the team this season. This is Strong's first GLIAC Player of the Week honors although she was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 2021 and First Team All-GLIAC the last three seasons.
