KENOSHA, Wis. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer program continued the road trip as they matched up against Parkside Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals (4-4-3, 2-2-3 GLIAC) drew 1-1 against the Rangers (2-5-4, 0-3-4 GLIAC) for their second-straight 1-1 tie.
Lainey Garbarz started in goal for the Cardinals and stopped five of the six shots she faced in the highly offensive match. SVSU led in shots 20-16 and shots on goal 8-6. Douglass won the ball from a Ranger defender and cut into the right side of the 18-yard box. She centered a pass for Garbarz who delivered a strike underneath a diving Parkside goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Ava Rizzitano tied the match in the 48th minute as it took just under three minutes in the second half for the Rangers to knot the match at 1-1. Neither team could break the deadlock over the remaining 42 minutes as both teams earned a point in the conference standings.
