SVSU Chosen 4th in GLIAC Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the 2023 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday (August 23) afternoon.

The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team placed fourth in the poll after totaling 31 points. The Cardinals fell one spot from their 2022 finish after they posted an 8-4-2 record in league play and an 11-5-3 mark overall.

Defending regular season and tournament champion Grand Valley State accumulated six of the eight first-place votes to finish atop the poll with 48 points. Ferris State had a first-place vote to claim second place with 42. Northern Michigan snagged the final first-place vote total finish with 39 points and claimed third place. The Cardinals grabbed fourth place as they were eight points ahead of Michigan Tech at fifth. Davenport edged Parkside 17-16 to claim the sixth spot while Purdue Northwest rounded out the poll with eight points.
