HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Michigan Tech University on Sunday in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. SVSU moves to 10-4-2 overall on the season and 7-4-1 in the GLIAC.
The Huskies struck early in the 14th minute when Stephanie Yeager found the back of the net. Michigan Tech took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break, before adding an insurance goal in the 77th minute of play when Yeager found Grace Shaw and sealed the win for the Huskies.
Michigan Tech outshot SVSU 10-9. Gabby Green led the Cardinals with four shots, while Olivia Argeros made one save in net.
SVSU returns home for a 1 pm game on Friday at Braddock Field against Wisconsin Parkside.
