GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University senior defender Amanda Minissale has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 record to start the 2018 campaign. 

Minissale helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 road record over the weekend with wins over regional foes Ohio Dominican and Alderson Broaddus. She helped keep a clean sheet for the Cards in the 8-0 over ABU, also contributing a goal and assist in the victory.

The Cards are back on the road this upcoming weekend, traveling to play in St. Louis against Missouri-St. Louis on Friday (Sep. 7) at 6:00 p.m. before facing Maryville Sunday (Sep. 9) at noon.
