ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team moved up the leaderboard on the second day of the NCAA Division II East Regional at The Meadows Golf Course. The Cardinals shot a 312 (+24) and have a two-round total of 628 (+52), placing seventh out of 18 teams.
Megan Thiravong and Christina Nagy each carded a 76 (+4) to lead the team on day two. Thiravong has a two-round total of 154 (+10), placing her in a tie for 20th. Nagy followed her first-round 80 (+8) with a 76, bringing her total to 156 (+12) and tying her for 23rd.
Hannah Hauser and Brook Herbstreit are both tied for 38th with a two-round total of 159 (+15). Hauser improved on her first-round 80 (+8) with a 79 (+7), while Herbstreit added an 81 (+9) to her opening round of 78 (+6). Andie Martin subbed in for day two and rounded out the team with an 88 (+16).
Up Next: Saginaw Valley tees off the morning of Wednesday, May 7 for the final round of the tournament. The Cardinals aim to climb three more spots and finish in the top four, which would secure a berth in the NCAA Division II Championships in Boulder City, Nevada.
