Women’s Golf Tied for Eighth Place After First Day of East Regional

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team completed the first round of the NCAA Division II East Regional at The Meadows Golf Course on Monday morning. The Cardinals shot a team score of 316 (+28) and are tied with Ferris State for eighth place out of 18 teams.

Megan Thiravong and Brook Herbstreit led the way for SVSU, each shooting a 78 (+6), placing them in a tie for 23rd out of 107 golfers. Christina Nagy and Hannah Hauser both carded rounds of 80 (+8), tying for 41st place alongside seven other players. Megan Kozlowski rounded out the team with an 87 (+15).

Up Next: Saginaw Valley will tee off at 8:50 AM EDT on Tuesday, May 6, for round two. The Cardinals are paired with Maryville and Ohio Dominican.
