LACONIA, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team competed in the Findianapolis Intercollegiate, hosted by Findlay and Indianapolis, playing three rounds at Chariot Run Golf Course in Laconia, Indiana, on Monday and Tuesday.
The Cardinals finished ninth out of 10 teams, with Brook Herbstreit leading the way by tying for 17th place out of 52 golfers. Herbstreit posted rounds of 77 (+5), 74 (+2), and 81 (+9), finishing with a total score of 232 (+16). Megan Thiravong followed, tying for 29th with rounds of 83 (+11), 78 (+6), and 81 (+9) for a total of 242 (+26).
Hannah Hauser, Alivia Ligrow, and Aileen Cosentino rounded out the Cardinals' lineup. Hauser and Ligrow each finished with a total score of 250 (+34), with Hauser shooting rounds of 85 (+13), 83 (+11), and 82 (+10), while Ligrow carded 79 (+7), 82 (+10), and 89 (+17). Cosentino followed with rounds of 93 (+21), 91 (+19), and 88 (+16), finishing at 272 (+56).
SVSU finished eighth in total pars with 124 and worked through challenges on par-four and par-five holes, averaging 4.75 and 5.40 strokes, respectively.
