CARMEL, IND. – Saginaw Valley State University women's golf junior Brook Herbstreit had an incredible performance on the first day of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Regional on Monday, finishing the day with a 2 under par score of 70 to lead all players on the individual leaderboard.
The Fenton, Michigan, native shot -1 on both the par 4s and 5s through one round on the course to give her the lead after day one.
The Regional consists of 54 holes of golf, so Herbstreit will have another 36 holes in the next two days of the tournament to maintain her lead.
The regional will continue tomorrow, May 7, for day two from the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.
