Women’s Golf Takes Seventh in Bill Crabtree Invitational

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf program wrapped up their fall competition at the Bill Crabtree Invitational hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan. The team took seventh out of 15 teams.

The team was comprised of six golfers including Brook Herbstreit, Megan Kozlowski, Megan Thiravong, Sydney Wesson, Amanda Ehrlich, and Andie Martin. SVSU scored 320 in the first round and 314 in the second for a total of 634 which is 58 over par. Herbstreit led the way shooting 155 with rounds of 79 and 76. Kozlowski started the tournament with a round of 82 and followed up on Monday with the best round by any SVSU golfer shooting 75. Thiravong was one stroke behind with two rounds of 79 scoring 158. Wesson and Ehrlich scored 164 and 167 respectively with Martin rounding out the team with 175.

Out of the 92 golfers at the two-day event, Herbstreit tied for 14th overall with Kozlowski tying for 19th and Thiravong tying for 21st. Wesson was one of two golfers two tally an eagle while as a team, SVSU was sixth in pars and birdies.

The invitational wraps up the fall competition as the women will continue their play in early 2024.
