Cardinal Women’s Golf Takes Sixth at Davenport Invitational

AUGUSTA, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University women's golf competed at the Davenport Invitational this weekend. The team took sixth out of 12 playing at Stonehenge Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.

The women sent seven golfers. A team of five including Brook Herbstreit, Sydney Wesson, Megan Thiravong, Megan Kozlowski, and Amanda Ehrlich. They also sent two individuals in Andie Martin and Hannah Hauser. The team scored 634 with rounds of 327 and 307 to edge out Lewis in the seventh position. Herbstreit led the women with rounds of 81 and 74 for a total of 155. That placed her 11th overall amongst the 69 golfers. Wesson also shot 81 on the opening round and had a 77 on her second round for a total of 158 tying her for 18th overall. Thiravong shot an 83 and a 78 totaling 161 with Kozlowski's 163 and Ehrlich's 165 right behind her. Martin tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard with her two rounds of 83 and 81 while Hauser rounded out the Cardinal golfers with a total of 175 from her rounds of 92 and 83.

Coming up for SVSU golf the women will have some time off as they prepare to head to Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday, October 22 for a two-day tournament.
