Women’s Golf Finish Sixth at the Bulldog Fall Invitational

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team finished sixth at the two-day Bulldog Fall Invitational in Big Rapids, Michigan on Monday. The Cardinals held onto their position from the first round despite improving their team score by seven strokes.

SVSU finished the first round with 323 and followed up with 316 on day two to total 639 to secure sixth place in the team standings. Grand Valley State finished at the top of the standings with Wayne State and Ferris State rounding out the top three. Saginaw Valley finished ahead of Northwood, Purdue Northwest, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Lake Superior State.

Brook Herbstreit led the Cardinals with a tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard. She shot 76 in both rounds for a two-day total of 152. Megan Thiravong tied in 13th with a 79 on day one and a 75 on day two. Hannah Hauser placed 40th with a total of 168. Amanda Ehrlich tied in 41st with a 169 while Sydney Wesson was 44th with a two-round score of 170.

The SVSU women's golf team will return to competition at the Findlay Invitational which is scheduled for the first three days of October.
