Women's Golf Finishes Seventh Overall at SVSU Spring Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team finished the SVSU Spring Invitational in seventh place Sunday, March 19. The team sat fourth place at the beginning of the day behind last year's national champion Findlay University, Wayne State University and nationally ranked Tiffin University.

Brooke Herbstreit (T20) led the way for the Cardinals after bouncing back from a nine-over 81 on the first day with a 78 on day two. Herbstreit carded two birdies in the round. Emily O'Brien (T23) placed second of the team with a two day total of 160 firing 79 and 81 for rounds one and two respectively. Rachael Krieger finished in 36th place for the Cardinals shooting 78-85 over the weekend. Megan Kozlowski (T44) finished with a two day total of 166 shooting 84-82, her second round was highlighted with a chip in on hole 18 for birdie. Megan Thiravong rounded out the team scoring for SVSU scoring a two day total of 168 finishing T51.

Individually for the squad, Mandy Ehrlich finished T27 shooting 81-80 for a total of 161 on the weekend. Hannah Hauser and Andie Martin competed individually as well and shot 174 and 185 respectively.

The Cardinals will compete on March 20 at Big Blue Golf Course in Lexington, Kentucky for the Findlay Invitational.
