Zarycki Adds College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® to Trophy Case

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators announced the 2022-23 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams on Wednesday afternoon. Saginaw Valley State University senior guard Kaitlyn Zarycki was listed on the NCAA Division II third team.

Zarycki adds this award to her two player of the year honors (NCAA D2CCA and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) she was awarded earlier this month. She was ranked eighth in the country over her 2022-2023 campaign in points per game scoring an average of 21.3, in addition, she averaged 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 91.5 percent from the charity stripe. Zarycki led the GLIAC in free throw percentage (90.8%), steals per game, and finished the season fourth in total points despite missing four games with a hand injury. Highlights from her immaculate regular season included breaking the single-game scoring record totaling 44 points on Senior Day over Davenport University and ending the season with 50 consecutive made free throws.

The 2022-23 Academic All-America® women's basketball NCAA DII team consists of the 16 best NCAA Division II women's basketball players in the country. Zarycki is one just two players representing the GLIAC on the All-America list.
