ASHLAND, Ohio -- The SVSU Women's Basketball team played at Ashland University on Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon in a GLIAC contest. The No. 2 nationally-ranked Eagles led throughout the contest, claiming a 101-47 victory over the Cardinals.
Ashland remains undefeated on the season at 19-0 and 11-0 in the GLIAC. Saginaw Valley falls to 8-11 and 4-7 in league play.
AU posted a 26-7 edge in the first quarter and 25-14 in the second, carrying a 51-21 lead into the halftime break.
Saginaw Valley kept it closer in the third frame, as the Eagles had a 19-15 edge. Ashland had a big fourth quarter, outscoring SVSU 31-11 to seal the 101-47 victory.

- Kaitlyn Zarycki had a team-high 11 points and added two rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals. She was named the Meijer "Player of the Game."
- Maddie Barrie added 10 points with two boards, an assist and steal.
- Maddie Maloney, Julia Cianferra and Kyndall Spires each had five points while Mariah Cook led the team with five rebounds.

The Cardinals return home to host Northern Michigan University on Thursday (Jan. 30) night. They will face-off with the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. at O'Neill Arena.
