Nick Halabicky joined the program as a volunteer coach in September 2017 but has been a member of the program since 2011.  Halabicky is a former Cardinal track and field athlete (2011-2016) and has successfully trasitioned from athlete to coach.  He specializes in the throwing events and oversees all aspects of throwers training.  

The 2018-19 track and field season saw much success for Halabicky and his athletes.  Ryan Kelly broke both the indoor and outdoor school records for the shot put while also qualifying and competing in both the Indoor and Outdoor DII Championships.  Kelly garnered All-American honors during the Outdoor Championships.  Halabicky saw success in his female throwing athletes, Ali Aldrich and Emily Droski, who earned top finishes in the shot put, discus and javelin at the GLIAC Championships.  Ali finished her freshman season with a season best of 14.32 meters while Emily landed a podium spot at the Outdoor GLIAC Championships for her season best of 35.26 meters in the javelin.

Halabicky also coached pentathlete/heptathlete Lauren Huebner who also qualified and competed in the Indoor and Outdoor DII National Championships.  Huebner earned school records in both the pentathlon and heptathlon and finished third indoors and was National Champion outdoor for the heptathlon.
