Sawyer Moloy Named GLIAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week After Record-Breaking Performance Last Weekend

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University freshman high jumper, Sawyer Moloy, was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's field athlete of the week by the league office on Tuesday morning.

The 2025 indoor All-American won the event at the Michigan State Spartan Invite last weekend and snapped the previous SVSU outdoor high jump record set in 2016 with a mark of 2.18m in the competition. That mark ties his personal best that he set during the indoor season and currently has him ranked second in NCAA Division II.

This is Moloy's second GLIAC men's field athlete of the week award during his debut season. He earned the first back in February following the Jet's Pizza Invitational, where he set the original PR of 2.18m.

Moloy and the Cardinals will compete at a two-day meet in Cleveland, Tennessee, hosted by Lee University, beginning on Friday, April 11.
