Alona Olshevska Earns 2023-24 CSC Academic All-America® First-Team

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Saginaw Valley State University track & field student-athlete Alona Olshevska earned first-team All-America when the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2023-24 Women's Track & Field Academic All-America® teams on Monday evening. Olshevska was a third-team Academic All-American in 2021-22.

Olshevska had a great 2023-24, starting with her indoor season. She broke two SVSU indoor records (200m & 400m) and was named the GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Meet and the High Point Athlete of the Meet at the conference indoor meet after winning the 60m dash and the 200m. The two-time indoor All-American qualified for her third NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship where she competed in the 200m, 400m, and the 4x400 relay. For the outdoor season, Olshevska broke her SVSU record in the 400m run with a time of 52.78 to finish in second place at the Division II Outdoor National Championships. She earned All-America in the 400m for her finish. Olshevska was a member of the 4x100 relay team that also set a new school record and earned All-America in the finals for the relay race. She got the meet started with a school record in the first round of the 400m, which she broke again in the finals. Olshevska was named the GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Year for her performance. She finished her career at SVSU with seven All-America awards, and seven SVSU records (four indoor, and three outdoor records).

To qualify for the 2023-24 CSC Academic All-America® awards, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
