Three Men's and Five Women's Track and Field Athletes Named USTFCCCA All-Region

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley Track and Field team had multiple student-athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors when they were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.

To earn honors, one must be a top five individual in their event throughout their region. For relay teams, they must have a top three times in the respective region.

MEN'S TEAM HONOREES

Ryan Brenner – Decathlon

Brenner heads into the event with a top score of 6991 this season which was set at the Bryan Clay Invitational in mid-April. Brenner, a freshman, sprung onto the scene this season in the multi-events and will be in the hunt for a promising finish on the national stage this coming week in Colorado.

Trevin Phillips – Javelin

Phillips is the current school record holder in the Javelin Throw which is being used as his seed mark for the national stage. His heave of 64.51m (211' 8") has allowed him to compete at the highest level all season. Phillips took second place at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships just two weeks ago.

Andrew Quinn – Shot Put

Quinn is the current school record holder in the shot put with a mark of 18.45m (60' 10") at the GLIAC Championships two weeks ago. Quinn, a freshman, has steadily improved in the event throughout the season and has been continually amongst the top throwers in the region throughout the year.

WOMEN'S TEAM HONOREES

Kelsey Landra – 4x400 relay team

Landra has been a crucial part of the 4x400 relay team as the lead leg for most of the season. She has used her senior leadership and extensive training to will herself and her team into one of the most prestigious awards in the region.

Cassandra Campbell - 4x400 relay team & 400m Hurdles

Campbell finds herself on this list with recent performances such as her 1:01.68 400m hurdle run at the GLIAC Conference meet two weeks ago that placed her top five in the region. She was also a part of the 4x400 team that recently set its best mark of the season with a time of 3:46.02 at the Oakland Last Chance meet this past week.

Lauren Buckner – 4x400 relay team & 1500m run

Buckner adds the award to her long list of accomplishments throughout her time with the SVSU Track and Field Team. The senior looks to cap off her record-breaking career in the 1500m run next week at NCAA Division II Nationals. Buckner currently holds the school record in the event with a time of 4:23.54.

Cheyenne Williamson – 4x400 relay team, 200m, 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Heptahlon

Williamson adds this honor to her highly decorated career as a Cardinal. Undoubtedly one of the best division two track athletes in the history of the division as a junior, Williamson is the defending national champion in the heptathlon and was ranked as high as third in the country this season in the event after only competing in it once in Azusa, California. She will look to defend her title in the event while also picking up crucial points for the team in her other three events. She also holds the school records in the 100m hurdles and high jump with marks set at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships this season.

Alexa Keiser – 3000m Steeplechase

Keiser continues an impressive outdoor season by earning her All-Region Honors in the last meet of the season with a time of 10:28.35 at the Oakland Last Chance Invite. Although it is her first season competing in the event, Keiser has taken the challenge head-on. Qualifying for the NCAA National Meet after only competing in the event a handful of times.
