DALLAS - Saginaw Valley State University track and field junior Cheyenne Williamson is currently 10th in the heptathlon after opening day of the USATF Jim Thorpe Cup between Team USA and Team Germany. The event is being held at the St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas.

In the first event, the 100-meter hurdles, Williamson finished fourth with a time of 13.93 seconds. She added an 11th-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters, while placing 10th in the shot put with a toss of 11.28 meters. In the final event of day one, the Essexville, Mich., native finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.02 seconds. 

Day two in Dallas gets underway at noon CST from St. Mark's School.
