Cheyenne Williamson competes at USATF Combined Events Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Saginaw Valley State University track and field student-athlete Cheyenne Williamson competed at the USATF Combined Events Championships this past Friday and Saturday from the University of Arkansas. Williamson finished eighth overall in the event with 5427 points.

The Essexville, Mich., native opened the meet with the 100-meter hurdles, where she finished ninth in the race in 13.92 seconds. From there it was on to the high jump and shot put, where she was ninth in both events, before closing Friday evening with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.09 seconds. 

On Saturday, Williamson was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.57 meters, before taking 10th place in the javelin throw with a toss of 27.04 meters. In the final event, the 800-meter run, the junior clocked a time of 2:17.23, which was good for fourth place.
