UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team returned from the holiday break last weekend, hosting the SVSU Classic at the Ryder Center Fieldhouse. 

In the women's mile race, Alexa Keiser led a 1-2-3 Cardinal sweep. The sophomore finished with a winning time of 5:01.80. Following her efforts, Keiser has been named GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week. The sophomore currently ranks 10th in NCAA Division II in the mile run. 

Keiser and the Cardinals host the Doug Hansen Open at 2:30 pm Friday from the Ryder Center.
