AUSTIN, Texas -- SVSU junior Track & Field student-athlete Lauren Huebner has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team following her fantastic season for the Cardinals. The national champion earns the national academic recognition after being named to the academic all-district squad in late May.

Huebner, who claimed the national championship in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, was one of 16 members of the Division II First Team. Her national title marked the first one for SVSU Track & Field since the 2001 season.

Lauren maintains a 3.90 GPA as an occupational therapy major at Saginaw Valley State University. She posted a pair of all-american honors this year, finishing third at the indoor championships in the pentathlon before breaking through for the outdoor title in the heptathlon. Huebner had two GLIAC titles in this year's outdoor championships en route to being named the Track Athlete of the Meet and the High Point Athlete of the Meet. At the GLIAC Indoor Championships, she had four podium finishes for the Cardinals.
