Cardinals Wrap up at Bellarmine Invitational

LOUISVILLE, KY - The SVSU track & field team finished competition at the Bellarmine Invitational today. The Cardinals took first place finishes in the 4x400 meter relays and several other top place finishes.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Ola Hendler, DeAnna Stickler-Gatson, Taylor Stepanski and Paige Stepanski took first place with a time of 3:51.72.

The men's 4x400 relay also took first for the Cardinals at 3:22.34. Josh Simmons, Blake Oakes, Noah VanderVeen and Andrew Mudd took the win.

David Jensen finished second in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:12.31.

In the women's 100 meter hurdles, Bria Williams took second 14.83.

Desmond Baugh also took second for the men in the 110 meter hurdles, posting a time of 15.93.

In the women's 4x100 meter relay, the team of Bria Williams, Domonique Smith, Devyn Powell and Ce'Aira Richardson took third at 49.19.

Christina Micale placed seventh in the 1,500 meter run, notching a time of 5:08.57. Teammate Sophia Bradley followed in 13th at a time of 5:15.83.

Jacki Sheaffer finished the 400 meter dash in 11th with a time of 1:03.89.

In the men's 400 meter, Keith Rodriguez posted a fifth place finish, notching a time of 51.51. Gerald Henderson and Sam Black followed in 10th and 11th, respectively. Henderson recorded a 52.24 and Black posted a 52.47.

Domonique Smith posted a time of 12.46 in the 100 meter dash and took second place. Chelsi Collins followed in eighth place at 12.91.

Smith took third in the 200 meter dash, recording a time of 26.67. Ola Hendler posted a time of 26.90 and placed sixth.

Paige Stepanski and Ce'Aira Richardson finished second and third in the 800 meter run, respectively. Stepanski posted a time of 2:16.12, followed by Richardson at 2:21.83. Alicia Tomlin finished eighth with a time of 2:23.66.

In the high jump, Sidney Bischer took fourth, crossing the bar at 1.64 meters. Anna Fochesato placed sixth at a final height of 1.60 meters. Bischer placed seventh in the long jump, marking  distance of 4.85 meters.

In the men's high jump, Noah VanderVeen, Brady Watson and Drue Pisha took third through sixth. VanderVeen and Watson both recorded a final height of 1.94 meters. Pisha posted a height of 1.84 meters.

In the 200 meter dash, Josh Simmons placed third with a time of 22.86. Brandon Love took 10th with a time of 23.41. Simmons took fourth in the 100 meter dash at a time of 10.99.

Ian Nemeth took third in the pole vault, marking a height of 3.50 meters.

Robert Tarpley posted a second place finish in the long jump with a best jump of 6.81 meters.

In the discus throw, Ben Morrow finished fourth with a throw of 45.36 meters. Ryan Tilney and Ryan Kelly took seventh and eighth with throws of 43.20 and 43.08 meters, respectively.

Andrew Mudd posted a fourth place finish in the javelin throw, marking a distance of 47.42 meters.

The Cardinals will travel to Hillsdale College for the Border Battle next Saturday (April 16).
