Cardinals Notch Six Provisional Marks at Kent State Golden Flashes Gala

KENT, Ohio - The SVSU track and field team sent several student-athletes to compete at the Golden Flashes Gala meet on Saturday (Dec. 12). The Cardinals performed well at the event, posting six different NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks.

On the women's side, the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Ce'Aira Richardson, DeAnna Stickler-Gatson, Ola Hendler and Kimberly Balls finished with a time of 3:49.62. The group had the top finish in the race.

Anna Fochesato notched a pair of provisional marks, clearing a height of 1.65 meters in the high jump and a mark of 11.78 meters in the triple jump. She finished first in the triple jump.

Teammate Sidney Bischer had a mark of 1.66 meters in the high jump of the pentathlon as well, contributing to her score of 3,084 points in the event.

For the men, Andrew Mudd posted a total score of 5,262 in the heptathlon and finished in first place. 

Robert Tarpley was second in the triple jump, posting a provisional mark of 14.82 meters in the event.

The Cardinals are off until Friday, January 15, when they host the SVSU Classic at the Fieldhouse on the campus of SVSU.
