Rodriguez Swims on Day Three of NCAA DII Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving had one student-athlete competing on day three of five of the NCAA Division II National Championships. Alvaro Rodriguez swam in the 100-yard butterfly Wednesday morning.

Seeded at 27, he placed 31st in the prelims with a time of 48.57 seconds, nearly 1.5 seconds behind the program record set last year. Rodriguez did not qualify for the finals later Wednesday evening as the top-16 move on.

Up Next: Rodriguez gets back in the pool on Friday, March 14 with the 200-yard butterfly. He is joined by Benjamin Wainman and Alexa Hieber who both swim in the 500-yard freestyle. Prelims are set for 10:00 AM with the finals at 5:30 PM EDT from IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
