ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving program sent two divers across the state to compete at the GVSU Diving Invite. Freshman Gryffin Porter and junior Cailey Mills both competed in the 1-meter (6 dives) event.
Porter took second place out of four divers scoring 280.90, missing the NCAA DII Championships qualifying standard by 4.10 points. The qualifying standard on the women's side of 1-meter diving is 255.00 and Mills beat that, taking first place out of six divers with a score of 262.20.
Up Next: Saginaw Valley swimming and diving has one more week off before heading to the GLIAC Championships in Holland, Michigan. The four-day meet starts Wednesday, February 19 from the Holland Aquatic Center.
