GENEVA, Ohio – The Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving program got back in the pool on day three of the NCAA Division II National Championships at SPIRE Institute on Thursday. Alejandro Robles Ruiz and Logan Fox both swam in the 100-yard butterfly.
In the preliminary rounds, Robles Ruiz placed tenth with a time of 47.23 to continue on to the consolation final. In that heat, Robles Ruiz took 13th out of 16 with a time of 47.41 seconds. Fox finished the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries in 47.74 which put him 20th out of 35.
The competition continues with day four on Friday. The Cardinals will have five competing with Alexa Hieber and Benjamin Wainman swimming in the 500-yard freestyle, Robles Ruiz competing in the 100-yard backstroke, Fox swimming in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Rory Kauffman back in action with the 3-meter dive.
