Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving program earned GLIAC athlete of the week honors. Alejandro Robles Ruiz was named swimmer of the week after he had a career weekend at the Davenport Invitational posting four NCAA Division II B cut times and set two school records. Robles Ruiz broke the program record for the 100-yard fly with a time of 47.60 and the 200-yard backstroke finishing in 1:45.49. Both of those finishes were two of the four B cut times with the other two being a 48.32 second finish in the 100-yard backstroke and his 43.94 second leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
