Three Cardinal divers set to compete at NCAA DII Nationals

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Saginaw Valley State University diving teams are sending three individuals to the NCAA Division II National Championship meet on March 8-12 in Greensboro, N.C.

Senior diver Libby Caird will return to the national meet. She was named the GLIAC Diver of the Year following the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet earlier this month, after winning the conference title in the 1-meter dive and finishing runner-up in the 3-meter dive. Last year, Caird finished ninth in the 1-meter dive at the NCAA Championship meet, and 12th in the 3-meter event.

Also qualifying from the SVSU women's team was junior diver Adelaide Spencer

On the men's side, Adrien McGill was selected to represent the Cardinals. The sophomore diver from Grand Ledge, Mich., was named GLIAC Diver of the Year after sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the GLIAC Championship meet earlier this month.

The Cardinals will open the competition at the diving qualification meet on March 8 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
