UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University swimming & diving teams had a busy weekend, as the Cardinals traveled to Grand Valley State University on Friday, and hosted Findlay University on Saturday.
Libby Caird qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships on Friday at GVSU, as she won the 1-meter dive with a score of 255.82 and the 3-meter dive with 276.82 points. Caird also won the diving events on Saturday against Findlay with scores of 249.05 in the 1-meter and 259.15 in the 3-meter event.
For her efforts over the weekend, Caird has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Diver of the Week for the second straight week.
SVSU will host Northern Michigan University for a dual meet at 1:00 p.m. Saturday from the Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center.
